Belper Opticians is an independent optometry and audiology practice located on King Street, Belper, Derbyshire. It has been serving the local community since 2019, following a rebranding when its previous owner, Mr. Uri Patel, retired after decades of service. The practice has a long history of being a trusted local optician, originally established by Mr Ian Kays, who retired in 2000.

Belper Opticians has since been managed by optometrists Ryan Khaira and Karun Bal, both of whom graduated from Aston University and are further qualified in Glaucoma. Both Optometrists are now also studying for further qualifications in independent prescribing. Under their stewardship, the practice has undergone significant modernisation, including a refit in 2019 and the installation of advanced diagnostic equipment like an OCT scanner in 2021, enhancing the quality of eye care available to its patients.

The practice focuses on combining modern technology with a traditional, community-centered service to deliver a high standard of care. We offer a wide variety of services and even work closely with the NHS to deliver care including community urgent eyecare services (CUES) and glaucoma monitoring to help reduce the burden on an already strained NHS.
